about

I'm starting a large body of work incorporating the path of self realisation and enlightenment through the teachings of Buddhism. Here's a list of the first album's songs and their meanings. You can download the entire thing at themrkingdomshow.bandcamp.com for free.

We play outside – finding truth

The series starts with confusion in our individual selves. Playing outside, without a care in the world, currently oblivious to spirituality, unenlightened. The soul searches for the answer and when it's found, a taste of enlightenment approaches and our soul craves for more. It's now time to set forth on the Path to Enlightenment.

The Path Pt.1

The first in (planning on to be) many musical representations of nondescript parts of the path. It is the essential filler that makes up a good portion of our journey to enlightenment, but it can be easily overlooked. Appreciation of non-essential or non-life changing feelings, good and bad, will strengthen us little by little. In the right mindset, they can be used as tools to gain enlightenment.

Collectivity

This plays off the realization that all life is one in the same thing. Through this notion we can experience things universally and realize that our reality is built up from a collective consciousness.

Little Temples

The human body to many is to be considered a fleshy temple, with many intricate parts working together perfectly to create your being and consciousness. We must realize this and preserve it as well as possible.

Scaffolding

It fascinates me to think that my consciousness can be traced back to a time where small forms of life were just starting to take shape. After years of evolution we've built up to beings that can produce things like big cities, vehicles, computer technology, and so forth. More and more souls are becoming enlightened as our collective consciousness evolves into something wiser and better than that before it.

Once I Was (Uplifted)

We have to go through many lesser forms of life until we become enlightened or strive for the path of the Buddha. Transcendence must be held at the highest regard to continue to grow or to end the loop.

The River

Is based off The Raft Sutra. We are on one side of the flood, we have to cross to reach our objective. It's a dangerous path filled with suffering, but distant and visible is nirvana. The raft helps us along to cross the flood. Dharma can be used as our raft but not forever and not entirely. We must find our own answers and be self-sufficient to ultimately achieve our goals and build our own raft to travel on.

Expression

I am given mediums that produce audio that allow me to express myself. My consciousness moves my body to use these mediums and radiate energy and emotion.

Opening Your Eye

Chanting and meditation are key elements to opening your mind's eye and finding spirituality. There are a lot of ways to do this. I will delve into these on later albums.

Another Day That Changed Everything

This is about finding the truth and experiencing a different form of spirituality you didn't know possible. We always like to think we know everything, but we never do. So each of these epiphanies can either lead to enlightenment or dispair and suffering. The choice is ultimately ours.

The Path Pt.2

Continuing on the path of enlightenment there is always extra time we must take just to exist and journey without stressing the mind. Relaxation to transition.
